I've been meaning to write a blog about this, but I never have gotten around to it. First let me say this. They were designed by my friend and art director at my work, and I really wouldn't have had anyone else design them. They were perfect, they had all the colors we wanted, they had the little hoot owls we love and they were totally us, what what! Jeff Barfoot is his name, and drawring is his game! I guess it's actually a little more complicated than "drawring," but the sentence wouldn't have been as concise and catchy if I'd explained all that he does. Who's with me?!

Woooohooooooo! Kevin and I are so grateful to Jeff. He and his wife Shay are designers extraordinaire, and here is her blog which includes designs she likes as well as designs she makes. Go Shay! She also has an etsy site all her own and you can see it here! They also have an etsy account together with treats that you can buy here!
I love Shay and Jeff and they love me! Woop woop!

thank you, thank you
So I'm just going to come out and say it. I VACUUM at sending out thank you cards. (the previous sentence was edited for content so as to be approved for all audiences) I sent out my first batch of wedding thank you cards a couple weeks ago. I don't know what Emily Post says, but that's probably way too late to be starting.....although, to be fair, I STARTED much sooner than that, I just wanted to get a big chunk of them done before I started mailing.
Anyboop, today I was talking with Jeff, our art director extraordinaire, about a client and how they might want to take their address off the envelopes we're printing for them because they might be moving and don't want to print the wrong address. Jeff made a comment about not being sure that the post office will mail letters that don't have a return address and that I might check with the post office.
DANG!
That's when I realized that I'd made the biggest thank you card writing faux pas (fo - pä) of them all! I totally forgot to put a return address on all the ones I've sent out! So now, if they don't make it to their final destination, they go in........
Don't believe it, potential non-recipients of said thank you notes!! It's not me! It's not who I am!
If there's anyone out there......anyone at all who reads this blog and might also have been a recipient of said thank you card, would you mind just dropping me a blog comment and letting me know if you received one? Maybe that's too much to ask, I don't know! My heart's all a'flutter and I'm a needer of affirmation!
Okay, I got that out of the way. Now I (don't) feel better. E. J. Sully never would have made this mistake!!!
WHY SHUUUUG!!!?!?

thankful
It is officially the day before Thanksgiving and boy do I have a lot to be thankful for. The weather is getting cooler, I'm wearing one of my favorite mustard yellow sweaters in honor of "fall," - if there is such a thing in Texas - and I'm generally probably living in the best time of my life to date.
Here's a list of things I'm thankful for, not including those I just mentioned.
1. Jesus. I wonder if He's getting excited about his forthcoming birthday! WINK!
2. a "new" bedspread that's finally in use after receiving it as a gift last Christmas. (don't worry, this isn't a picture of our actual room.....just the merchandising of said bedspread online)
3. living in Dallas. It's changing my/our lives. I think I only had to fill up once last week, rather than twice, and Kevin has exchanged his 3 fill ups/week for 1 every week and a half. Hurrah! We're also grateful for living so close to our work places. Getting hours of your life back every day is indeed praiseworthy.
4. having the luxury of a "guest" bathroom. guests......BRING IT ON!
5. not having to say "goodnight" anymore.
6. Barcelona slideshows that will be up as soon as we get internet.
7. my family.
8. my new family.
9. our pots and pans and my new recipes!
and finally.......
10. I am exceedingly grateful for this most wonderful and recently acquired husband of mine.
I love him so much and I'm excited about this little adventure we're starting. Plus he's pretty easy on the eyes.

one more...
Here's a picture that didn't make it into the original batch because of a blogger error message it kept giving me.
Nice right?
And here's another for good measure:

Mawwiage! (sic)
I. Am. Married. And it's glorious. I hope to write a more in depth blog about the wedding, the Barthelona, and the return, but for now I just want to share some pictures from the "photo booth" section of our wedding. Genius, by the by.
Can I just say that Carter Rose and Ryan Thompson are dang amazing?! All of the photos below are courtesy of Dallas In Focus. I feel no shame in saying that we had the best photographers ever for our wedding. And we got them before their business was booming and we couldn't afford them anymore. *WINK*
Anyhoot, here are some of my favorites.

Love 'em. Stay tuned for more blogs with words.

money, so they say.....
...is the root of all evil, tooo-oo-ooday.
Thank you first to Pink Floyd for giving me the lyrics for today's intro.
I was at the apartment yesterday at lunch dropping off a few more things (automans, pictures, et al) and I happened to experience the first sign of the realization that we're going to be making some financial adjustments being married what with our new bills and responsibilities.
On my way back to work from lunch, I decided to stop by our mailbox to see if we'd happened to get any mail, even though the likelihood is slim, given that we haven't sent any change of address forms to the post office and various other institutions we'll have to do that with soon enough. But still, I really just wanted to use my cute little mail box key.....again. I checked and I actually did have 1 piece of mail (along with the left over mail from the previous tenants) from my car insurance company since they're also covering our renter's insurance. Woohoo! My first bill!
I was taking out all the junk mail and I threw it away and was starting to leave the little mail station when I realized.....wait a second......I think there were coupons in that "junk" mail I threw away. So naturally, I went back to the trash can, picked them back up out of said can, and took them to my car. It was an interesting feeling, as I've never really been interested in clipping a coupon before in my life, minus helping my mom when I was little, but I also felt a little excited. Like, "Here we go. New chapter in our lives where we can't buy ourselves shoes or ridiculously cute handbags from etsy whenever we want anymore."
BRING IT ON!
p.s. I was hoping to find a coupon for $1000 off your wedding, but I'll settle for $0.25 off spaghetti sauce instead.

garments....
In my spare time, I've been trying to find hostess gifts for my shower, and I happened to stumble upon one of the funniest things I've ever seen...
Oh, Etsy, how I love thee.....
