99 red balloons

This is my 99th post. I guess my next one better live up to it's monumentally centurial (C) ideal.

Yesterday was a nice day. Work didn't feel so overwhelming, but busy is good, so I can't complain. After work, I had to drop off some music for my cellist friend to arrange for a wedding I'm playing in this weekend. It's "Portraits at an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky, and it's beautiful. Anyway, it's a piano piece and we're a string quartet, so some arranging will have to be done.

After that, I had some time to kill before my final b-study (b=bible) with Analdo (Annie) and Reno (Rian), so I decided to sit outside and read before I had to leave.

Now, my post-first semester college schedule was always pretty packed because I had to work a lot, and didn't have much down time to hang out on campus between classes. Every time I was walking to class on a beautiful day and I would see people on benches or laying down on the grass reading or studying or doing homework, I so envied them. I would have loved to have been around to really enjoy the campus. So, I did that yesterday, and I think I might try to do it more often, actually, now that the weather is nice. I sat outside between the architecture building and the fine arts building, and let me just say that the architecture building at UTA is definitely the coolest building on campus, and believe you me, I haven't seen more than half of them! *eyes darting nervously around computer screen*

Anybuns, (that was for Victoria) I sat in this courtyard where there's this fountain, and this little minimalistic shelter thing (how very architectural) and it was FANTASTIC!! The weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cool. Then while I was reading, the step team started practicing somewhere near by, and it sounded awesome! Then the drummer started practicing outside, and it was far enough away not to be annoying or detrimental to my hearing, so it was nice, too. The campus was just full of life! It was nice and relaxing. Plus I didn't have any papers due, so it was dooobly (sic) nice!

Then that night, I found this awesome coffee shop, with Rian and via Annie, who's name escapes me. It used to be this cool restaurant called Amelio's, and now it's not. But I forgot to check their hours and their name, and now I can't find them online. Blast! Anyway, it's right by campus on Abrams behind the McDonald's for those of you (1-2) who are familiar with the area. Annie if you remember the name, let me know!!

Here's a picture of the architecture building from the front. If you go through that big dark opening in the middle of the building, you can get to the courtyard about which I spake:

Incidentally, this is a picture of where Kevin lived when he was at the UTA dorms:

I know they have WiFi, but I don't know if it's free. Did you delete your first comment?

We had a snowball fight so big in the courtyard that the Arlington police had to come out and disperse the crowd. It was us vs. Brazos Hall. We had around 200. They had 20.

It's Cup of Joe or Cup o' Joe or something like that. I'm not sure if they have free wi-fi, but I know that Coffee Haus does which is near UTA, too, on Mesquite and Abram I think. Coffee Haus's best drink is the Almond Moo...mmmmm.
