Vote Wastin'! Wastin' the Vote Again!

The title of my blog is to be sung to a tune that probably only Kevin knows (AND LOVES!!!! - right, sweet Hugsband?!), but I find amusement in it anyway. Having just found out about that Culture Feast blog, I was reading some of the other posts in my down time at work and came upon another entry that I really liked a lot. It won't apply to everyone, but I thought it was worth posting in any case.

Here is the article about voting for who you really want to win, whether they're on the ballot or not.

Take a gander. This is something I've wondered about before, so it was nice to see it presented so well.

HOLLER!

p.s. Happy Halloween!

Personal Responsibility

A fellow blogger friend o' mine posted a link to an article about the elections (a bipartisan article for anyone who's worried) that I thought was so awesome that I had to link to it, too.

It's titled Elections Don't Alleviate Personal Responsibility by a blogger on Culture Feast, a blog about....well, culture. I've now added it to my Google RSS feed because I liked it so much.

Enjoy!

more things "i" like....

They've done it again! Stepped on my white white toes!!

Let's just say I DO like hummus and my Brita filter is often almost empty!!

Hilarious!!! I particularly like the "scenario" provided about halfway down the article.

ere the beard is no more....

In light of the fast approaching expiration date on Kevin's beard, I thought it appropriate to honor it in a blog post or two (depending on whether or not I actually write a second one). Many thanks to sweet hampton for pointing me in this website's direction.

Here is one of my faves:

Here are a couple pics of the beard almost a year strong from the Ben Folds concert last week (where we actually ran into said hampton):

Here's a more full shot of the beard (pardon Kevin's bedroom eyes):

imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

I read several blogs, some by my friends and some nationally renowned who I don't know at all. I love that blogs give each person a chance to be who they are without limits, but that isn't what this post is about so I'll cut to the chase.

In all my blog reading I've consistently noticed something that tickles the heck out of me. And this only goes for the nationally renowned type blogs. Blogs that have a serious fan base. "Famous" bloggers will naturally tend to have a particular writing style all their own, clever ways to phrase things, etc. What I always find hilarious is when people comment on their posts and write their comments in the writing style of the blog author. I don't know if it's a desire to relate or to stand out to the author, but I have always found it very endearing. When you really love a blogger and you like their style, if you're going to go so far as to leave a comment of *gasp*, your very own thoughts and feelings, you want to write it to catch their attention. See blogger I love? I write just like you!! Don't you feel like we could be kindred spirits? Want to be friends?

I think it's cute. How's that for a random thought for the day.

Very interesting.

bidding adieu in style

This week marks the last few days of my sweet friends Brianne & Sarah as residents of Dallas, TX. They are moving in a southern direction to San Antonio to open and manage the Urban Outfitters store there.

Other wonderful friends of ours, Andrew & Doug, owners of the glorious House of Dang! hosted a little going away shindig after hours on the shop's back patio. We had fun dancing and mingling while some strange movie Mario picked out played on the projector up against the building. Here are a few pics of the evening:
